Save as PDF from Office 2007 NOT!

Well this is not really good is it now.. Apparently Adobe is not happy with the “Save as PDF” feature implemented in Office 2007 to make things easy for MS Office users. CNet has the article about the fuss that Adobe is making..

So this raises the question isn’t PDF supposed to an open format? The PDF specifications are on the Adobe web site. As far as I know OpenOffice has a similar implementation. So why not give the power to the users of Office? Ther’s something quishy going on here I say..

Anyway according to this post from Brian Jones of Microsoft will make this feature available as a separate download. (Did I say free download?)
