Tsunami Appeal Cricket Match update!

SharePoint

Yes, we had the Tsunami appeal cricket match vs the Whitby cricket club. It was a great day with so many people turning out to watch the game.

In a nail biting finish the Whitby XI managed to clinch victory with a four off the last ball but the result was unimportant in the greater scheme of things as we believe we raised between **$5,000 and $6,000 **for Synergy’s Tsunami relief project.

Not only was the game great fun, it was fantastic to see so many people who came along and helped out and just had fun. Thanks goes to Lulu, Trent (Trish), Livi, Keith and Emma etc who all helped on the day. And thanks to Annelise for umpiring/scoring with a very sore leg. Also a big thank you to all those people who turned up to support their Synergy cricketing heroes and sponsored the Synergy team.

Our efforts to raise funds was given a big boost by Icon Recruitment who sponsored the team to the tune of $1,100 and Real Recruitment who donated $1,000 if Steve agreed to play in an angel outfit - which of course he enjoyed. So a win-win situation.

For those interested in the game, Mark provided the following match report:

Synergy batted first and scored 161 for 14 (yes fourteen !) off 30 overs with Nathan top scoring with an excellent 62 ably supported by Jeremy (21), Jared (20) and Garth (15 no). Whitby scored 162 for 10 in their 30 overs with Chan (Me) claiming 3 wickets, Mohammed 2 wickets and Simon, Gary, and Jeremy all claiming 1 wicket each.

Synergy man of the match award went to Nathan with Steve claiming the Whitby Cricket ‘Balls Cup’ award for his batting appearance dressed as a fairy.

Here are some pictures from Keith who was our official photographer.
